Energy infrastructure
Westbridge energy plant.
A brownfield expansion program designed around continuity of operations, evidence-led commissioning, and measurable plant performance.
The challenge
Expand output without losing operational control.
The client needed additional generating capacity inside an active facility with limited outage windows, congested interfaces, and a commissioning sequence shared across multiple contractors.
Early surveys revealed incomplete legacy records and several conflicts between the proposed equipment arrangement and existing maintenance routes. Moving forward without resolving those gaps would have shifted risk directly into construction.
Project priorities
- Protect continuous operations and critical utilities
- Resolve brownfield interfaces before fabrication
- Package work around defined outage windows
- Provide one commissioning evidence structure

The solution
Front-load the interfaces.
ForgeX established a combined design, outage, and commissioning workstream. Site verification was converted into a controlled interface register, and modular work packages were reviewed with operations before release.
Factory acceptance activities used the same functional breakdown as site commissioning, allowing documentation to follow each system from fabrication through handover.
- Laser-verified existing conditions
- Multidisciplinary interface ownership
- Off-site modular assembly
- System-based commissioning records
Measured results
Performance visible at handover.
Illustrative increase in modeled net plant output.
Unplanned operating interruptions during tie-in activity.
Illustrative reduction in the original commissioning forecast.
Technical delivery highlights.
- Brownfield survey and constructability program
- Mechanical, electrical, civil, and controls coordination
- Modular pipework and equipment support strategy
- Integrated inspection, testing, and commissioning plan

“The team made every interface visible before it became a field problem.”
